Lower Dolpo Trek 20 days will run through the remote wilderness of western Nepal. After all your trek will start from the Jumla where you fly from Nepalgunj. During the trek, you will enter to the Shey Phoksundo National Park. For this trek, your journey will capture good memories as well as breathing view of the Mountains. You will get a refresh and natural air breath.

Lower Dolpo Treks is an Awesome and Outstanding trek which is located in the isolated area of west Nepal. Detail itinerary
Breakfast Kathmandu Hotel
Firstly, arrive at airport our GLOBAL TREKS NEPAL REPRESENTATIVE will Meet & greet you. Then you will transfer to hotel. After getting refreshed you will have lunch and have a short walk to Kathmandu Durbar square at day untill dusk and at evening in Thamel street. Dinner at same hotel. ( This day plan will depend on what time you arrive at here). O/N at Kathmandu.
1 hrs B/L/D Nepalgunj Hotel
According to the plan schedule you will have the flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Nepalgunj is the Nepal- India Border which is very interesting place to visit which have a local culture. After arrived to The airport our representative guide will pick up from there. You visit the villages and transfer to the guest house. O/N at Nepalgunj.
2/3 hrs B/L/D Dunai Guesthouse
You will betake flight in early morning from Nepalgunj to Jhupal which takes more than 45 mins to arrive there. You will get an good opportunity to see the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri ranges from the high. After reach there your trek will begin after an hour. The trek will begins from the mountain region and you will be walking through the way of Bheri river. After all you will be continue your trek to the Dunai. O/N at Dunai.
5/6 hrs B/L/D Tarakot Guesthouse
After an early breakfast you will again continue to bank of Bheri river and Barbung river gorge. After some ascending your trail will moves from the pine forest and terrace field then you will be in the Tarakot which is the small valley near to Bheri river. It is also know as the headquarter during the multi-estate system and you can see the Sandul monastery at the stream junction. 0/N at Tarakot.
3/4 hrs B/L/D Khani Gaun Guesthouse
Today your trek will gone through Khani gaun where you will be departing through the Bheri river . And after all you will catch the line of tarap Chu stream by crossing the bridges. The way is very amazing and spectacular which merges the look of the village and the terrace farm. You will reached to the Khani gaun you will get an view of kami goan. O/N at Khani gaun.
4/5 hrs B/L/D Tarap Khola Guesthouse
Today in the early morning you will be heading through the narrow gorge along side the river as this will be probably the exciting trip to walk through the narrow spaces as well as from bushes and stones. After an short walk with the thrills you will be reached to the Tarap Khola . O/N at Tarap Khola.
4/5 hrs B/L/D Yak Kharka Guesthouse
After an early breakfast you will start your uphill trek by watching the beautiful scenic and you will follow the trails with greenery valley of natural. It is the place of distance of 4-5 hrs walk as Yak Kharka is surrounded by the open Yak pasture land. Then finally you will reach to the yak Kharka. O/N at yak Kharka.
5/6 hrs B/L/D Dho Tarap Guesthouse
Well in the beginning today you will walk up to Kamattarka at the convergence of the Tarap Chu and Lang Khola which is being flowing from the east. Then you will through the way of dense forest and gorges. After an hour walk you will reach to the Dho-Tarap which is surrounded by the huge stone. In this places specially Chaiba and Bon po religious stay there by sharing their goods. O/N at Dho Tarap.
B/L/D Dho Tarap
Today is the special day for the better improvement for the good treks above. For a long time you have ascends you trekking high so today you will get chance to have a wonderful short hiking to capture the views of Dho Tarap as well to enchance the local culture and involve with them with their custom, festivals, fooding as well as selther too. Bon po and Nyigmapa sect place have the Gompa of the local people. O/N at Dho Tarap.
5/6 hrs B/L/D Tokyu Gaun Guesthouse
Today you will be ascending through Tarap valley and follow the trails of the river which is rocky , after you will continue the plain track . Your trek journey is full of greenery sightseeing , riverside create a fresh nature as well you can picturesque the views. You will be leading through the beautiful valley Tarap Chu . It is the beautiful valley which is being marked by the fertile lands. Then you will reach to the Tokyu Gaun. O/N at Tokyu Gaun.
4/5 hrs B/L/D Numala Base Guesthouse
Your day will be going more memorable so today you will be ascending you altitude where you need to walk more than 4/5 hrs. The trail is slidely dotted with the terrace farm as well as landscape of the field. Afer an long walk you will reach to the Numala Base. O/N at Numala Base.
6/7 hrs B/L/D Pelung Guesthouse
Today is one of the difficult day for this trip to Lower Dolpo where the Numala base lies in 5190m and the trails is very different from where you should climb for at the top ridge of the hill. The walk area is very pointed with the rocky materials. From that point you can see the gorgeous views of landscape, hill, small mountains and many more beautiful areas. You can have an opportunity to see the Dhaulagiri peak point from there. After you will be decrease some point and over tent to the Pelung Tang. O/N at Pelung tang.
5/6 Hrs B/L/D Dajok Tang Guesthouse
Today is another day to walk to Upper Doplo. After an hour you will began your trek to the trail of uphill at the top of Baga La (5,070 M). All trekkers can capture the good views from there and their surrounding attract it. After an hour walk the trail will be descends to the downward.O/N at Dajok Tang.
3/4 hrs B/L/D Ringmo Guesthouse
From today your walk for trek will be more easy where you will be steeping and crossing through the huge pine forest and amazing shadows of nature. Then you will be descends your walk slowly by alpine terrain. Your trip will give you the memorable things about the nature. O/N at Ringmo.
B/L/D Phoksundo Lake Guesthouse
This is the day where you can explore the Phoksundo Lake which is being surrounded by the Tibetan. Phokundo lake is the alpine fresh water which is being located at the elevation of 3,611 M above the sea level where you can see the yak caravans to move to their destinity as you can visit to the monasteries and a short hike for the refreshment. After you will be back to Ringmo. O/N at Ringmo.
5/6 hrs B/L/D Shyangta Guesthouse
After an early breakfast your trek will be descending quietly to the Shyangta by climbing to Chekpa through the rocky trail. Then you will pass by the way of barren hills and Bon Po. Finally you will reach to the beautiful place Shyanta. O/N at Shyangta.
5/6 hrs B/L/D Jhupal Guesthouse
Today you will reach to Jhupal from where you have started your trek by crossing the Sulighat ,from the way you can see the Jhupal from above beautifully. Like this you will enjoy your treks and reach to the Jhupal. O/N at Jhupal.
B/L/D Nepalgunj Guesthouse
Today You will be back to Nepalgunj from above you will capture the panoramic view of down city. Then after reaching to Nepalgunj you have some time to do shopping or anything else as per your choice. O/N at Nepalgunj.
B/L/D Kathmandu Hotel
Today in the early morning you will get an flight from Jumla to Nepalgunj . Taking an hour take again you will have flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu. If u have time you will have an extra shopping in Thamel which is very famous area of Kathmandu city and global treks will provide you the farewell dinner. O/N at Kathmandu.
Breakfast
The trip concludes today. Our Airport Representative will drop you at the international airport in Kathmandu for your flight departure from Nepal.

Essential Information
The following gives you a general idea of the personal items that you can bring for the trek. The personal items as your individual interest, and choice. In a supported trek, heavy items are carried by porters or yaks and personal belongings that you may need for the day like money, camera, sun cream, water bottle, rain gear, and toilet paper etc. should be carried by yourself. So you are briefed to pack items in two different bags. The most important fact that one should keep on mind is that one should have enough clothes to tackle the cold weather in the mountain range.
(Note : We will supply complimentary water and wind proof duffel bag which you can use on the trek and is carried by porter/s. The duffel bag is yours to keep after the trek. You can leave your bag with your non-trek items at the hotel in Kathmandu and collect them after the trek)
Upper Body – Head / Ears / Eyes
Shade hat or baseball cap – of their head and then put a baseball cap on to hold it in place. This can be a flexible alternative while keeping the sun off your ears and neck.
Warm wool or synthetic hat that covers your ears.
Glacier glasses-100% UV protection with side shields and a hard-sided storage case (i.e. Julbo or Cebe). Regular sunglasses are not sufficient. If you wear prescription glasses, speak to your doctor about prescription glacier glasses, perhaps with transitional lenses. This is to protect your eyes from the rays of the sun due to the thinner atmosphere which can cause a painful condition known as snow blindness.
A neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth if you feel you will need it .
Headlamp – Black Diamond and Petzl both make several good ones. Make sure to bring extra batteries and that they are lithium batteries so that they will last in the colder temperatures. These are indispensable for getting around at night, reading, etc.
Balaclava – lightweight, thinner variety
Some people like ear-muffs; these are optional; a good hat, balaclava, and hooded jacket should really be sufficient, but this is a personal choice for some people .
Hand
1 pair liner gloves, thin wool or synthetic, useful alone a days or as a layer inside other gloves / mitts for additional warmth.
1 pair warm gloves (heavier fleece or wool).
1 pair shell gloves or mitts; Gore-Tex is preferred for keeping hands dry.
Instant hand warmers are always nice in a pinch, but really shouldn’t be necessary on the trek. Bringing appropriate hand protection as recommended above, should be sufficient (optional).
Core Body
T-shirts (2/3
Light and expedition w)eight thermal tops.
Fleece jacket or pullover.
Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional).
Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket.
2 women sports bras, Synthetic, no cotton!
Lower Body – Legs
2 pairs nylon hiking shorts – Quick drying type, not cotton!
Underwear, stay away from cotton .(4/5)
1 pair soft shell pants – synthetic, full zip from top and bottom preferable.
2 pairs trekking pants, the knees so they double as shorts.
1 pair hard shell pants. Waterproof / breathable, Gore-Tex or equivalent is best. Should zip from the top and bottom – this makes it easier to put on over boots without getting undressed should the weather change once you are underway for the day.
1 pair cotton pants (loose jeans/khakis).
2 pairs lightweight long underwear – capilene or other synthetic.
All clothing should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks or large puncture resistant plastic bags.
Feet
4/5 pairs of liner socks, synthetic or capilene.
3/4 pairs heavy weight socks to be worn over liner socks.
1 pair light weight socks, a good option for the lower / warmer parts of the treks.
1 pair light to medium weight water proof hiking/trekking boots.
1 pair light trekking shoes or sneakers. Good for around the camp/lodges and in Kathmandu.
1 pair hiking gaiters, good for keeping dust and rocks out of your shoes / boots as well as keep your feet dry as necessary (Optional).
1 pair sandals (Optional).
Medicines and First Aid Kits
(Please note WT guide will also carry the first aid kit bag during the trek. However we still recommend you to bring your personal first aid kit as well)
Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude related headaches.
Buprofen for general aches and pains.
Immodium or Pepto bismol capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
Diamox (commonly prescribed as Acetazolamide) 125 or 250mg tablets for altitude sickness. Please discuss with us before starting to take this medicine.
1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as mole skin, band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc. your guides will have more extensive medical gear, but you should have the basics for general use.
Most Necessary Documents/Materials
Passport and extra passport photos (4 copies).
Airline ticket (Please make a copy and leave on at our office in KTM just in case if you need to change the date of your).
Durable wallet / pouch for travel documents, money & passport.
Lip balm. At least SPF 20, 2 sticks. A string taped to the stick is helpful, to hang around your neck and some are now being sold with a cord already attached. Handy as it avoids you from having to stop and look for it.
Sunscreen. SPF 40 is recommended and should be relatively new since it loses its’ effectiveness over time.
Pocket knife or small Swiss Army type.
Water purification Iodine tablets or Polar-pure crystals.
Toiletry kit. Be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.
2 bandanas.
Optional
1 pair adjustable trekking poles. Although these are listed as optional, these can be of great assistance to people who may think of themselves and generally clumsy or with bad knees, ankles, etc, especially when going downhill (Optional).
Binoculars (Optional).
Favorite snack foods, no more than 2 pounds (Optional).
Paperback books, cards, mp3 player (there are a couple of stops where you could recharge. Avoid players with moving hardware as it may not function. Remember, keep these items light weight) (Optional).
Hydration bladder with drinking tube and tube insulator (Optional).
A pee bottle for men and pee funnel for woman, some swear by them to avoid that chilly late night trip (Optional).
1 small stainless steel thermos (Optional).
1 light weight point & shoot camera or 1 large SLR. Digital cameras are ok, but you must keep the batteries warm when not in use (Optional).
Please Note: Tight fitting, figure-hugging clothing, such as those made with Lycra can often be offensive to locals, especially to women. If you find these items comfortable as a base layer, please pack something to wear on top of them.
