Overview

Everest Base Camp Via Gokyo also known as Everest Circuit trek, this is one of the most adventurous treks in the Everest Himalayas it follows the route via high pass of Cho La at 5,330 M into the Base Camp of Mount Everest. A unique trek that goes through Lukla, Namche Bazaar and all the way to Gokyo. And Chola Pass, Kalapattar and Everest Base Camp .

Leading you to the home of the legendary Sherpa people . Based at the foothills of the highest peak in the world : Mt. Everest at 8,848 M. Everest Base Camp Trek basically move on from Lukla . Likewise  it is a small town that is connected to the rest of the country via Tenzing Hillary Airport .Lukla is situated in the Khumbu valley which also home to Sagarmatha National Park  A UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Everest Base Camp Via Gokyo trek follows the highly praised trekking route through the Dudh Koshi to its source the Gokyo Lake which is to the west of the Everest Base Camp, giving you the benefit to summit Gokyo Peak (5,483 M) offering a fantastic panoramic view of Cho Oyo, Everest.  And Makalu.

INTRODUCTION

As we cross the Cho-La pass and return back to Lukla .Following the route through Everest Base Camp, Kalapattar down to Tengboche monastery, Khumjung village, Namche Bazaar and Lukla. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Everest including several other similar peaks and explore the Buddhist monastery. Gokyo valley, undoubtedly, is one of the most popular trekking destinations for adventure enthusiasts around the Global.

The trek takes off from Lukla and conceding at a higher-elevation point of Gokyo Ri. One can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys, glacier lakes, and mountains. Gokyo Ri Trek is a beautiful journey . To the enticing Gokyo lakes and Gokyo Ri.which is one of the most amazing viewpoints for great views of Everest and the other Himalayas.

Breakfast Kathmandu Hotel


Our representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

After a hearty breakfast, at 8.30 AM your sightseeing trip will start. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. Today we will visit some heritages listed below:

Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples of Lord Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Though you are not allowed to go inside the temple as it is strictly for Hindus only, you can clearly see the temple and the activities from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. It is a square two-tiered pagoda temple built on a single tier pinch which is famous all over the world.

Boudhanath: Boudhanath is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. It was built in the 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going around the stupa spinning the prayer wheels. Bhaktapur Durbar Square:

Visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the Royal Residential Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, the famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth and Palace of 55 windows. The rest of our time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in Thamel area near your hotel. Overnight at Hotel.


Flight 35 M & 3 Hrs Trek Breakfast/Dinner Phakding Guesthouse


An early morning start takes us to the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla (2,804 M). On arrival at the airport, the guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding (2,610 M). After landing we have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sort and load our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh
Kosi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2,713 M). The walking is easy and after passing through the small village of Ghat (2,550 M) it is a short walk to Phakding. Overnight at a guesthouse.


5 hrs 30 Minutes B/L/D Namche Bazaar Guesthouse


We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, crossing the majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering the Sagarmatha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar (considered the Gateway to Everest) is home to many quality restaurants,

hotels, lodges, shops, money exchange services, internet cafes, and bakeries. Namche is the biggest town along the Everest trail. Overnight at a guesthouse.


B/L/D Namche Bazaar Guesthouse


likewise We spend a day in Namche Bazaar in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning air. We will trek a short distance to a museum that is celebrated for its exhibits of the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. We also hike up the Syangboche Airport near the Everest View Hotel. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu peaks. Overnight at a guesthouse.


5 hrs. B/L/D Phorste Guesthouse


The trail climbs steeply out of the valley through rhododendron forest, juniper and large conifers start to appear as the elevation increases making the trekking very pristine in spring. The trail passes through Yak Kharka and summer settlements. The views of Khumbi La and Tawache are magnificent throughout the day. Overnight at a guesthouse.


5 hrs B/L/D Machherma Guesthouse


We climb a ridge for an excellent view both down the valley to Kengtega and up towards Cho Oyu and descend to a river and again climbs steeply to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpz glacier. We will reach Machherma by early noon. Overnight at a guesthouse.


5.5 hrs B/L/D Gokyo Guesthouse


The trek today takes us at one of our main destinations, Gokyo (4,700 M). We will make this camp our base for 2 nights as we will have a couple of sightseeing and hiking trips around Gokyo. Overnight at a guesthouse.


5 hrs B/L/D Guesthouse


Due to Early in the morning, we have a steep climb up to the top of Gokyo Ri at an elevation of 5,378 M. There are ample rewards for those who attempt this trip – you get stunning views of the super Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, including the giants Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang. This day we have for acclimatization and afternoon back to the camp. Overnight at a guesthouse.


4 hrs B/L/D Guesthouse


Trek to the foot of Cho La pass. Accommodation in Thangna will be very basic and in a dormitory-based room because of its remoteness. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.


7 hrs B/L/D Guesthouse


We start before sunrise at 4 or 5 am to reach the pass by 9 – 10 am to dodge bad weather conditions of the noontime. We cross over at an altitude of 5,300 M where we could be exposed to strong winds if we crossing too late. We start to climb steeply that is regularly used and easy to follow. Therefore , the problem may arise due to the altitude and snow. It often causes terrible problems to cross the pass if it is covered by snow. As you reach the top, you are rewarded by the magnificent views, then we descend to the Dzongla at noon. Accommodation in Dzongla will be very basic and in dormitory style room because of its remoteness. Overnight at a guesthouse.


4 hrs B/L/D Guesthouse


A rather easier and shorter trekking route will take us to Lobuche after 4 hours of trekking. Overnight at a guesthouse.


5.5 hrs B/L/D Guesthouse


Therefore This is a difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 M the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. There will likely be a team there about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorak Shep for the
night. Overnight at a guesthouse.


6 hrs B/L/D Guesthouse


This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of the morning in this day is spent climbing Mt. Kalapathar, a small peak (by the Himalayan standards) at 5,555 M. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 29,028 FT (8,848 M), towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep, a tiny hamlet at 5,180 M then trek down to Periche. Overnight at a guesthouse.


5.5 hrs B/L/D Namche Bazaar Guesthouse


Because of From Periche we take a slightly different route down to Orsho then to Pangboche village. Here is the oldest monastery in the region which contains what is said to be the scalp and bones of a Yeti or abominable snowman. Leaving mountains behind us our descent takes us through the Tengboche Monastery at an elevation of 3,860 M before
continuing back to Namche Bazaar at 3,441 M. We arrive back to Namche Bazaar in the afternoon. Overnight at a guesthouse.


6 hrs B/L/D Lukla Guesthouse


Likewise Finally, we return to Lukla where we started our trek, which might seem like a lifetime ago. We’ll spend some time enjoying and reflecting on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. We also have some spare time to explore the town some more. Overnight at a guesthouse.

However On your flight back to Kathmandu as you leave Lukla, you can enjoy some last-minute glimpses of the mountains you just recently visited. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our airport representative will transfer you to your hotel from the airport. Overnight at a hotel.


Breakfast, Dinner Kathmandu Hotel


This will be a spare day in Kathmandu after the tiring trekking program. You have the option to extend your trip to continue onto Chitwan jungle safari, rafting adventure, Kathmandu valley shopping tour, scenic Everest flight, mountain biking, and other activities. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. (Your guide(s) and office staff will accompany you.) Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Essential Information

The following gives you a general idea of the personal items that you can bring for the trek. The personal items as your individual interest, and choice. In a supported trek, heavy items are carried by porters or yaks and personal belongings that you may need for the day like money, camera, sun cream, water bottle, rain gear, and toilet paper etc. should be carried by yourself. So you are briefed to pack items in two different bags. The most important fact that one should keep on mind is that one should have enough clothes to tackle the cold weather in the mountain range.

(Note: We will supply complimentary water and windproof duffel bag which you can use on the trek and is carried by porter/s. The duffel bag is yours to keep after the trek. You can leave your bag with your non-trek items at the hotel in Kathmandu and collect them after the trek)
Upper Body – Head / Ears / Eyes

Shade hat or baseball cap – of their head and then put a baseball cap on to hold it in place. This can be a flexible alternative while keeping the sun off your ears and neck.
Warm wool or synthetic hat that covers your ears.
Glacier glasses-100% UV protection with side shields and a hard-sided storage case (i.e. Julbo or Cebe). Regular sunglasses are not sufficient. If you wear prescription glasses, speak to your doctor about prescription glacier glasses, perhaps with transitional lenses. This is to protect your eyes from the rays of the sun due to the thinner atmosphere which can cause a painful condition known as snow blindness.
A neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth if you feel you will need it.
Headlamp – Black Diamond and Petzl both make several good ones. Make sure to bring extra batteries and that they are lithium batteries so that they will last in the colder temperatures. These are indispensable for getting around at night, reading, etc.
Balaclava – lightweight, thinner variety
Some people like ear-muffs; these are optional; a good hat, balaclava, and hooded jacket should really be sufficient, but this is a personal choice for some people.

Hand

1 pair liner gloves, thin wool or synthetic, useful alone a days or as a layer inside other gloves/mitts for additional warmth.
1 pair of warm gloves (heavier fleece or wool).
1 pair shell gloves or mitts; Gore-Tex is preferred for keeping hands dry.
Instant hand warmers are always nice in a pinch, but really shouldn’t be necessary on the trek. Bringing appropriate hand protection as recommended above, should be sufficient (optional).

Light and expedition w)eight thermal tops.
Fleece jacket or pullover.
Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional).
Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket.
2 women sports bras, Synthetic, no cotton!

Lower Body – Legs

2 pairs nylon hiking shorts – Quick drying type, not cotton!
Underwear, stay away from cotton. (4/5)
1 pair soft shell pants – synthetic, full zip from top and bottom preferable.
2 pairs trekking pants, the knees so they double as shorts.
1 pair of hard shell pants. Waterproof/breathable, Gore-Tex or equivalent is best. Should zip from the top and bottom – this makes it easier to put on over boots without getting undressed should the weather change once you are underway for the day.
1 pair of cotton pants (loose jeans/khakis).
2 pairs of lightweight long underwear – Capilene or other synthetic.
All clothing should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks or large puncture resistant plastic bags.

Feet

4/5 pairs of liner socks, synthetic or Capilene.
3/4 pairs heavyweight socks to be worn over liner socks.
1 pair of lightweight socks, a good option for the lower / warmer parts of the treks.
1 pair light to medium weight waterproof hiking/trekking boots.
1 pair of light trekking shoes or sneakers. Good for around the camp/lodges and in Kathmandu.
1 pair hiking gaiters, good for keeping dust and rocks out of your shoes/boots as well as keep your feet dry as necessary (Optional).
1 pair of sandals (Optional).

Medicines and First Aid Kits

(Please note WT guide will also carry the first aid kit bag during the trek. However, we still recommend you to bring your personal first aid kit as well)

Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude-related headaches.
Buprofen for general aches and pains.
Immodium or Pepto Bismol capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
Diamox (commonly prescribed as Acetazolamide) 125 or 250 mg tablets for altitude sickness. Please discuss with us before starting to take this medicine.
1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as moleskin, band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc. your guides will have more extensive medical gear, but you should have the basics for general use.
