Sundarijal Chisapani & Nagarkot hiking combines the best of nature with some typical local life, gorgeous Himalayan views, captivating sunset and ethereal sunrise from Chisapani and Nagarkot, this hike makes for an ideal vacation in a matter of three days. The trip starts with a short drive to Sundarijal, a popular hangout and busy picnic spot in the north of Kathmandu. Falling inside the boundaries of Shivapuri National Park, this is a place of cool shades, tall trees, beautiful streams and serene atmosphere — all in striking contrast to the noise and crowd of the city. Leaving aside a few settlements on the way, the hike trail passes through forest to Chisapani, the destination of the first day. Chisapani is a mixed settlement of Brahmins, Gurungs, and Sherpas. The village also commands a beautiful view of the large section of the Himalayan range, which emits an ethereal glow in the setting sunlight. All along the forest through Shivapuri National Park with only occasional settlements, we reach Nagarkot, the most popular vantage point to the east of Kathmandu. When starting Sundarijal Chisapani Nagarkot Short trek In clear weather, an extended portion of the Himalayas, starting from the Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt Everest and Kanchanjunga in the far east glue your eyes to them.

Day 03: Nagarkot – Changunarayan – Kathmandu (Hiking Hour 2 & ½ Drive)

Briefing Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu – Sundarijal – Chisapani (Hiking Hour 4-5)

Sundarijal is the place which is located in the 12 km north from Kathmandu in the elevation of 1350m. Today we will drive to Sundarijal from Kathmandu & the place is very forestry where the trail leaves, water supply process can be seen in good views. We will walk to the steeply road through to 1550m from there after you will continue to climb Shivapuri ridge. We can find their small tea shops from their we can enjoy the panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. After passing it we will reach to the Chisapani at the elevation of 2300m where we can see the mesmerizing views of the mountain. O/N at Chisapani

Day 02: Chisapani – Nagarkot (Hiking Hour 4-5)

Today we will start trekking to Nagarkot which takes 4-5 hrs where we will descends from above slowly which takes to hours. After we will reach to the Bhanjyang where we can take some rest and delicious lunch. In the Bhanjyang, the trail is flat for almost one and half hours then 30 minutes ascend to arrive at the beautiful Hill station called Nagarkot, situated at an altitude of 2175 m. which provides the grand stand panoramic views of the Himalayas. You can see five of the fourteen tallest mountains in the world, including Mt. Everest (8848 m.). Other mountains are Lhotse (8516 m.), Cho Oyu (8201 m.), Makalu (8463 m.) and Manaslu (8163 m.). We will get an opportunity to see the sun rise & sun sets from above the hills. O/N at Nagarkot

Day 03: Nagarkot – Changunarayan – Kathmandu (Hiking Hour 2 & ½ Drive)

After getting a breakfast you will start to walk down through the Changunarayan Temple which is listed in UNESCO World Heritage & Located in the 15 km east of Kathmandu. After passing through their we can enjoy the beautiful scenery in the way of Sankhu as well as Bhaktapur.  In the Chanugunarayan we can see the different monuments and the oldest statues made by the stone. Finally we will be back to the Kathmandu.
